# Writing descriptions for your pathways

## Writing a great description for your pathways involves a small amount of structure. Given the description area of a pathway is free text, you can add whatever you like, including bullet points and line dividers.

Below is an example of a description you can reference. Depending on your content, this example might be best used by using a similar structure.

**Example description for a pathway:**

What you'll learn

- Learn to essential concepts of operating systems
- How to get started with BASH and become confident in the terminal
- You will learn what APIs do, why APIs exist, and the many benefits of APIs.
- All the important stuff about Git and how to manage your code in a repository
- The basic of web application security, how to test your code and some clean code habits
- How to build a web app using the latest React JS syntax
- How to apply basic state management in a React app using Redux
- Learn all about Node and creating a very simple REST API
- Get started with TypeScript, learn the basics, its features, workflows and how to use it

Requirements

- Some prior knowledge of computer programming would be beneficial
- Be ready to learn an insane amount of awesome stuff
